From 20 to 26 July 2026, the Erasmus+ youth exchange program “The Edge Effect” was held in Florence, Italy. The project focused on urban sustainability, environmental protection, and the practical application of permaculture principles.
Young people from four countries participated in the program, including three students from David Aghmashenebeli University of Georgia (DAUG). Each country was represented by five participants and one group leader. The project included non-formal education activities, practical workshops, team-based assignments, intercultural events, and presentations prepared by the participants.
The participants explored opportunities for sustainable development in modern cities, shared experiences from their countries, and strengthened their communication, collaboration, leadership, and critical-thinking skills. Particular attention was given to young people’s involvement in environmental and community-based initiatives.
The project encouraged the exchange of knowledge and experience among young people from different countries, supported the development of new international connections, and helped participants generate ideas that could be implemented in their local communities.
Participating countries: Italy, Georgia, Portugal, and Albania.
