SDASU<\/span>            <h2>HISTORY OF SDASU<\/h2>                    <\/div>\n                                <div class=\"sdasu-cb-content\">\n            <p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: &apos;Sylfaen&apos;,serif\">David Aghmashenebeli University of Georgia (DAUG hereinafter referred to as the \"University\") is a higher education institution with more than three decades of experience in Georgia's modern educational landscape. The University is committed to upholding national and universal values while directing its intellectual resources toward advancing the country's integration into the European space and promoting its sustainable development.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: &apos;Sylfaen&apos;,serif\">The establishment of the University is closely associated with the idea of restoring Georgia\u2019s independence. Its origins are linked to the founding of the Society for the Social Protection of Former Communist Party Members by the University\u2019s Rector, Professor Teimuraz Koridze, in 1987, and the subsequent establishment of the <strong>Support and Advancement<\/strong> Society on its basis on 11 July 1991.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: &apos;Sylfaen&apos;,serif\">The Society sought to promote the country's transition away from communist ideology by fostering democratic values, supporting the shift from a centrally planned administrative-command system to a market-oriented economy, and encouraging young people to participate actively in the development of an independent Georgian state. Bringing together leading Georgian scholars, the <strong>Support and Advancement <\/strong>Society, under the leadership of Professor Teimuraz Koridze and with the blessing of His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, established the first private higher education institution in Georgia, the <strong>David Aghmashenebeli Tbilisi Engineering and Economic Institute<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: &apos;Sylfaen&apos;,serif\">In 1992, pursuant to a decision of the Institute's founders, the institution was renamed <strong>David Aghmashenebeli University of Georgia<\/strong>. Since then, the University has offered educational programs across a broad range of disciplines, including medicine, dentistry, law, journalism, economics, business administration, finance and banking, tourism, English philology, and engineering.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: &apos;Sylfaen&apos;,serif\">By Order No. 65\/a of the Accreditation Council for Higher Educational Institutions of Georgia, issued on 16 October 2006, David Aghmashenebeli University of Georgia was granted institutional accreditation, effective from the 2007\u20132008 academic year. Subsequently, pursuant to Decision No. 83 of the Authorization Council for Educational Institutions of Georgia, adopted in 2011, the University was granted the status of a higher education institution, effective from the 2012\u20132013 academic year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: &apos;Sylfaen&apos;,serif\">In the context of contemporary integration processes, global challenges, and increasing competition, SDASU has evolved into a leading educational and research center operating in accordance with international standards. The University is committed to providing society with high-quality educational services while ensuring continuous development and improvement. It actively promotes the enhancement of its recognition and advancement at the national, regional (Caucasus), and international levels. By fostering students' personal and professional development, the University aims to prepare highly competitive specialists equipped with the competencies needed to meet the demands of the modern world.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: &apos;Sylfaen&apos;,serif\">Since 2011, the University has implemented educational programs across all three levels of higher education. These include Bachelor's programs in Law, Business Organization and Management, Finance and Banking, Tourism, Information Technologies, Journalism, English Philology, and International Relations; single-cycle postgraduate programs (professional training) in Medicine and Dentistry; Master's programs in Law, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Journalism, English Philology, and International Relations; and Doctoral programs in Medicine and Economics.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: &apos;Sylfaen&apos;,serif\">The University operates a modern, purpose-equipped campus that includes teaching auditoriums, conference and sports halls, a press club, computer centers, a library with an extensive collection of printed materials and electronic resources, a mock courtroom, a forensic laboratory, a Georgian-English dental clinic, a virtual simulation laboratory, a first aid training center, and an authorized television and radio broadcasting company equipped with advanced technological facilities such as <strong>SDASU TV<\/strong> and <strong>SDASU RADIO<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: &apos;Sylfaen&apos;,serif\">The University's highly qualified academic staff and relevant structural units ensure the effective utilization and continuous development of its material and technical resources.
