Welcome to the Faculty of Law!

The Faculty of Law of Davit Aghmashenebeli University of Georgia is a hub of legal education and legal science development. Higher legal education at the university is based on centuries-old national traditions and the best practices of the world educational system. The Faculty of Law contributes to the training of highly qualified professionals. It became possible due to the involvement of leading specialists from the Georgian Legal Sector, and the introduction of modern teaching methods conducting the educational process at a high level.

The Faculty has all three levels of higher education programs – Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral Studies. Educational programs are completed by highly professional academics and invited personnel, and equipped with appropriate material-technical resources, which aim to train sophisticated lawyers with relevant competencies to promote their competitiveness in both domestic and international employment markets.

At the Faculty of Law, theoretical knowledge is accompanied by professional skills using practical components. On the initiative of the faculty, various simulated processes are systematically implemented to develop the practical skills of a judge, lawyer, prosecutor, or legislator for students. Students attend public lectures and participate in scientific conferences, discussions and debates, seminars, and training. It is worth highlighting that the university has a modern equipped forensic laboratory that enables students to take a forensics course and obtain a relevant certificate.

According to the existing practice, students of the Faculty of Law systematically undergo training in various ministries, courts, law, and notary offices, where they deepen their practical knowledge and develop the skills that will contribute to their development as full-fledged lawyers. After the completion of practice, the majority of the students start their carriers at the mentioned institutions.

At the Faculty of Law of Davit Agmashenebeli University of Georgia, students can expect a business and friendly atmosphere, relationships based on respect and justice, and diverse and meaningful student life. With the help of experienced and qualified academic staff, each student at the Faculty of Law receives higher legal education following modern standards, develops skills necessary for both a practitioner and a scientist-lawyer, and masters the profession.

About Faculty

Increasing legal self-consciousness in Georgia is of great importance from time immemorial. The profession of lawyer belongs to the number of professions regulated by the state, taking into account the special importance. The DAUG faculty of Law is an important center for the development of legal education and science. Higher legal education is based on centuries-old national traditions and best practices of the world education system. The faculty of Law makes a great contribution to the preparation of highly qualified staff. This was made possible by:

-Attracting prominent representatives of Georgian legal school;
-Implementing modern teaching methods;
-Taking the study process to a higher level.

In the DAUG faculty of Law operates an accredited undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs that are provided with relevant human and material-technical resources. The Law Program aims to prepare bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral candidates equipped with competent European standards to ensure their competitiveness both in domestic and international labor markets. The DAUG faculty of Law provides students with an atmosphere of business and friendship, relationships based on fairness and respect. Each student is given the opportunity to get higher legal education with modern standards, with the help of experienced and qualified professors, to develop practical and scholarly skills and to master the prestigious profession of lawyer. The faculty of Law has a mock courtroom where students are allowed to practice at mock trials the skills required by a judge, attorney, prosecutor, legislator, and lawyer. The law school provides the students with the possibility to address a large audience in a conference format and argue around the complex legal issues, voice critical observations or new initiatives. Involvement in the legal clinics of the faculty of Law. The students of the DAUG faculty of Law practice in ministries, courts and law bureaus, where they acquire practical experience and become full-fledged lawyers. It should be noted that after the completion of the practice, a significant portion of the students will be involved in these institutions. The faculty of Law is oriented on a student and is based on the continuous assessment of student’s academic performance. The student acquires the necessary competences for the lawyer, the efficient use of law knowledge, justice, human rights, social and democratic values.

Court room

Since 2012, at David Aghmashenebeli University has been functioning a mock court session. Undergraduate students have the opportunity to prepare mock trial in criminal procedure, procedural skills, and master program students in practical skills. The moot court session is equipped with the technical means necessary for the trial, which enables students to conduct simulated trials in full compliance with the procedure of conducting the trial and in accordance with the procedure.

Criminalistic Laboratory


The Davit Aghmashenebeli faculty of Law has been functioning for more than two years and is fully technically and programmatically compatible with international standards. With the help of qualified specialists, students have the opportunity to study the most important issues of investigation, criminalistic techniques, tactics to deal with individual crimes, such as detecting traces and other evidence, examining and investigating crimes against human life and property and other methods of investigations in other crimes. Consequently, students of faculty of Law will be able to get experience with theoretical knowledge within the course of the Criminalistics, which will facilitate their practical skills. Along with the preparation of the students, training of practicing workers is also conducted, based on which the above persons will be able to increase their qualification and receive a certificate.
