Criminalistical Laboratory
The Criminalistics Laboratory has been functioning for more than 2 years at the School of Law of the David Aghmashenebeli University of Georgia, which technical equipment is appropriately compatible with the international standards. With the help of qualified specialists, the students have the opportunity to learn the most important issues of investigation of the criminalistic techniques, tactics and individual offenses, such as the peculiarities of methods for detecting, removing, defening and examining the evidence, conducting investigative activities, human life, crime against the property and other offenses. Therefore, the students of the School of Law are able to get the practical experience together with theoretical knowledge, which contribute to the formation of their practical skills. The lectures and seminars are carried out in the laboratory with the use of specialized video materials. In order to deepen the knowledge, all the conditions are created for the students’ independent laboratory work. The scientific-technical and criminal-technical means, tools, teaching methodological and informational materials are available for students. In the criminal laboratory, there are more than 100 maquettes, exhibits, tools and other means to detect the traces of the crime. The laboratory is equipped with the criminalistics computer software programs (e.g. the program of a photo-composite portrait creation program for human appearance, etc.). In the laboratory, there is the simulated game that helps the students to develop the ability of solving the typical investigative situations. The laboratory equipment provides the students with the necessary knowledge and skills to train in all types of criminology.
